The slide show presents the different landforms that we have learned about this term, from the towering plateaus and mountains to the deltas forming at the mouth of rivers.
New Zealand Islands
With temperatures reaching as high as 35 degrees, New Zealand's vegetation is extremely lush due to the, not often, but heavy rain falls that occur. Native plants like "forget me nots", Beeches, and other plants take up 80% of the flora on the islands, amongst beautiful trees such as totara, ramu, and the biggest of them all, the giant Kauri. The islands are located about 4,155 km north east from Australia, which shares a very similar climate.

Unlike the climate however, Australia and New Zealand's wildlife is hardly comparable, with Australia having more land-based creatures, such as kangaroos, Wombats, Koalas, Dingoes, etc., while New Zealand (being an island) has more birds and small creatures. The reason there are so many birds in New Zealand is mostly just because the inability for animals to get there and also as a result of the amount of food there. The mostly flightless birds that live there such as the kakapoo parrot, kiwi, takahi all had diets mostly revolving around small rodents and fruit, with the larger birds feasting on fish.
Hardships these islands bring for their inhabitants and how their dealt with
As beautiful and luscious the land of New Zealand is, there are many problems that are brought by the small islands location, being at the end of both Australian and Pacific Tectonic plates, causing up to 1500 quakes a year, but only 150 of which we can feel! They deal with this by simply repairing the damage caused by the earthquakes and building special home foundations to avoid severe damage and home loss.

Another issue in new Zealand isn't actually the land itself, but the economy. In the past year the gap between the "poor" and the "rich" has grown 22%, with job solidification increasing the difficulty to acquire a high paying position. Another issue is with the shortage of exports, simply from the lack of need for their resources. However the problems are quit IMPORTant (get it?), the government simply deals with the problem by reducing spending in things like importing and new developments.
Advantages and Disadvantages of the environment
Relying heavily on agriculture for their economy, New Zealand's constantly having to be worrying about soil loss from the deforestation needed to clear space, Rainfall that wipes away fertile soil, even soil acidification. This would lower population of earthworms, and vital organic material. Despite this the farming there is very prosperous and is a strong asset to the economy.
New Zealand is truly a beautiful place that holds many adventures and i found to be a perfect example for this project, having tectonic plates, mountains, volcanoes and being an island! I am yet to go at this point but i hope to one day travel there, and experience what i have learned over this project. In New Zealand there is ideal soil for farming, along with a fairly strong economy and balanced exports and imports. The islands are completely inhabitable and would make a great place to thrive in tropical temperatures, even though there would be earthquake issue every once in a while.
