Valleys are often formed because of flowing water and erosion, not unlike mountains. However, the valley are formed because the water flowing is on top of them, while mountains are formed by water running along the edge.

Valleys are the low point between mountains or hills, and often have extremely fertile soil, perfect for growing trees and grass for the many animals that call them homes, like deer and bears. Valleys must have 2 characteristic to classify as this landform. 1, it has to be low land, and 2, it has to run between 2 mountains.
